Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

An easy way to think about this is that therapy, or counselling, tends to reflect on and deal with past experiences and traumas to help people manage the present.

Whereas coaching focuses on the present and future, supporting people in identifying goals and taking action to make positive changes in their life.

How can coaching help me?

You’ll often hear the term ‘stuck’ when people talk about coaching – but it is a good way of describing how a lot of people feel when they turn to a life coach for help.

Are you tired of hearing yourself wish that things were better at work, that you had more ‘me-time’, or that life could be more fun and fulfilling … life coaching can help you move forward with anything that’s making you feel stuck.

I have supportive family and friends – why do I need a life coach?

Friends and family can and often do offer great support in times of difficulty or change – but sometimes what you really need is a space to explore your thoughts, life, needs, wants with someone who is uninvolved in your life, totally non-judgemental, and 100% supportive of the dreams and goals you may have. Your coach has no agenda except to help you identify what it is you need, find clarity when it comes to your goal and to take action to make change.

Is coaching the right thing for me?

If you’re feeling uncertain about your direction in life, coaching can help you find clarity and focus. By identifying your values, priorities and vision, a life coach can help you create a structured and supported approach to achieving your dreams.

If you find it hard to stay motivated or stick to a plan a coach can hold you accountable and help you keep your focus.

Life coaching can offer strategies and techniques to improve your mindset, overcome limiting beliefs and cultivate self-confidence, which can then allow you to unlock your full potential.

If you’re ready to invest in yourself and start taking action towards creating the life you want, coaching may be just the thing for you.
